The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day. A member of our recruitment team will provide more details.

We are looking for passionate, proactive, KYC experts to join our growing team. You will maintain proper KYC practices for new and existing customers, whilst liaising with first and second line business stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the KYC due diligence process by engaging and closely collaborating with Corporate Banking/Financial Institutions/Investment Banking clients, Relationship Managers, Product Groups, Onboarding Unit, Quality Control, AML Advisory and other stakeholders

  • Partner with Relationship Managers/Product Groups to enable more enriched discussions on risk/AML/Sanctions compliance issues, while managing the progress of KYCs from an end to end basis for an assigned list of clients;

  • Deliver improved RM and client experience by communicating courteous and succinct emails to both internal and external stakeholders

  • Follow up and respond back to clients, RMs, internal stakeholders (as needed) on a prompt basis and ensure that the team is adhering to these requirements

  • Monitor/review business activities across various product areas, while fulfilling responsibilities related to Request for Information (RFIs) related to KYC/risk/compliance issues identified as part of the KYC due diligence;

  • Responsible for maintaining an understanding of various Corporate Banking/Financial Institutions/IB client relationships, working with various local product areas & other global stakeholders to understand business ties, and taking ownership of client due diligence review as part of assessing relationship/product risk as critical functions to help various Corporate Banking groups within GCIB;

  • Showcase high proficiency in identifying risk flags, supported by rigorous trainings and guidance from Process Governance, AML Advisory & other stakeholders;

  • Collaborate & handle requests from FLoD Control Office, SLoD, TLoD (i.e. Internal Audit);

  • Attend appropriate training & support on a periodic basis;

  • Meet the requirements of various MUFG standards, policies & procedures including but not limited to Global KYC Standard, U.S. Branches Know Your Customer Procedure for First Line of Defense;

  • Engage local & overseas stakeholders in different time zones;

  • Develop subject matter expertise for clients under the respective industry vertical and drive efficiencies in KYC process;

  • Act as the primary escalation point for all KYC matters related to an industry vertical/product group(s);

  • Responsible for achieving the relevant KPIs/KRIs of the team as defined by management;

  • Manage a team and assign tasks/KYC caseload to Associates/AVPs supporting the relevant industry vertical(s)/product group(s);

  • Attend pipeline calls/account planning sessions/credit or other relevant calls for the vertical on behalf of the team; and maintain frequent and direct relationship with business head(s) of that respective vertical(s)/product group(s) to ensure close coordination and issue/priority management;

  • Establish and lead internal team calls to enable team to escalate issues/concerns/help items and provide status updates;
