About the role
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver orientation programs for new nursing employees.
- Design and conduct ongoing education, competency assessments, and annual mandatory training.
- Provide clinical instruction, coaching, and mentorship to nursing staff.
- Evaluate staff performance and identify learning needs through observation and competency validation.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, accreditation, and organizational standards.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership to improve clinical practices and patient outcomes.
- Develop educational materials, policies, procedures, and evidence-based learning resources.
- Maintain accurate records of employee education, certifications, and competencies.
- Facilitate continuing education opportunities and support professional development.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and performance improvement projects.
- Stay current on nursing best practices, healthcare regulations, and clinical advancements.
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing, Education, or a related field preferred.
- Previous teaching, precepting, or staff education experience preferred.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and evidence-based practice.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and learning management systems (LMS).
