Director, Merchandising - Lingerie & Sleep, (Hybrid, WA)

Job Description

NOTE:   This position is offered as a hybrid role in the Seattle, WA area.  You must be willing to work in office at the Nordstrom Seattle office a minimum of 3 days/week to be considered for this position.

The Merchandising Director is responsible for the development and management of buying strategies and successful implementation of the customer-centric merchandising strategies for their team. 

 

A day in the life… 

• Develop Accessories strategies that align with company, banner and channel priorities, while evolving assortment to remain relevant to the customer  
• Ability to clearly articulate strategies and priorities to all levels and audiences 
• Identify unarticulated needs specific to each unique customer to create innovation opportunities, while building relevant assortments for each customer 
• Identify and nurture talent to develop future Nordstrom leaders 
• Build strong relationships with all partners - Suppliers, Planning, Allocation, Replenishment, Store Environment, Store & District Leadership, Digital and Marketing 
• In partnership with Planning Manager, be a fiscally responsible leader who takes calculated risks with mitigation strategies, while delivering financial objectives of the division 
• Be a change leader in the division, supporting company initiatives and ensuring adoption by merchandising team 

 

You own this if you have... 

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience 
• Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in management and leadership roles with progressively larger responsibility 
• Varied background of experience in related fields 
• Demonstrated understanding of retail and the service environment of Nordstrom 
• Ability to navigate Nordstrom organization and processes 
• Ability to build strong relationships with peers and senior leadership 
• Strong strategic planning abilities and critical thinking skills 
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills 
• Comfort achieving results through influence versus authority

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below has been provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different for other locations. 
Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

$150,000.00 - $245,000.00 Annual
