Summary:
The Center for Diversity & Inclusion (CDI) is seeking an undergraduate student to serve as the CDI Event Logistics Assistant for the CDI portfolio.
The Center for Diversity & Inclusion is looking for a collaborative team player interested in enhancing the experience of all students, understanding the campus climate, and partnering intentionally with campus partners and administrative offices to tell stories and share experiences through video media.

The Center for Diversity & Inclusion promotes the personal growth of students by providing specialized university-wide educational programs and training, Intergroup Dialogues, as well as support for First-Generation, LGBTQIA+, District Scholars, and the Summer Transition Enrichment Program (STEP) cohort.
Essential Functions:
Establishing and maintaining relationships with vendors and venues that CDI works with for large scale events.
Planning event details inclusive of EMS reservations, place Engage submissions, tabling around AU, placing flyers, and coordinating reach out to campus partners.
Creating reliable financial of monies spent on events.
Managing events and addressing potential problems that may arise.
Planning for potential scenarios that could impact the integrity of the event.
Maintaining a working knowledge of the complex needs of a wide variety of events.
Salary Range:
$17.50 an hour
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
10 hours per week.
In-person.
Required Education & Experience:
Must be a current AU enrolled student at full-time status.
Must have a knowledge and understanding of various AU platforms for planning, advertising, and promoting CDI signature events.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Event Logistics Assistant must network with a wide variety of entities in their role.
Team Management: Event Logistics Assistant carry out many tasks on their own, but a major aspect of the job is working with a team. Delegating to a team properly and making sure everyone has what they need to do their job requires team management and leadership skills.
Budgeting: Every event comes with a cost, and it’s the Event Logistics Assistant’s job to keep those record costs within the allocated budget. This will require a level of financial skill and the ability to create accurate reports.
Logistics: Everything at an event, from the seating to the entertainment, must be set up in a practical and useful manner for the guests. To accomplish this, the Event Logistics Assistant must possess a level of skill in logistics to properly plan the details and anticipate potential problems that may arise.
