About the role

Labcorp is hiring a Director of Business Processes and Solutions.  This person will provide application level, global leadership, vision and direction in the development and implementation of a set of products by providing leadership, training, direction, and technology solutions to allow operations to effectively and efficiently manage the planning and execution of programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establishes clear understanding of key business processes including clarity over process inputs, outputs and relationships.
  • Implements the vision and direction as defined by the VP, Engineering and functional leadership by providing leadership, training, direction, and technology solutions to allow operations to effectively and efficiently manage the planning and execution of programs.
  • Monitor industry best practices with regards to specific products.
  • Builds quality into specific products and associated business process, looking for improvement opportunities and relentlessly seeking to translate improvement opportunities into realities.
  • Works with operations in order to revises a specific application and associated business processes, designing quality and controls into the application and/or process and ensuring a mechanism for measuring compliance, appropriate escalation and consequences are implemented.
  • Establishes controls which identify key measures (i.e., risk, quality defects, speed, cost) for a specific application and associated business process.
  • Use measures to direct efforts to improve business processes associated with a specific product.
  • Commissions and oversees the execution of remediation and continuous improvement initiatives with respect to with a specific product.
  • Engages key stakeholders around shared objectives for associated business process design and execution, including consequence management.
  • Partners with relevant key stakeholders to conduct training, lead awareness efforts, and promote/educate employees with a specific product, associated business quality and compliance.
  • Liaises with relevant functional lines regarding responses to findings and areas for improvement. Contributes to all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Main contact for both internal staff and sponsors for matters pertaining to a specific program.
  • Effectively network with others throughout the organization and an external customer base to ensure function provides relevant input to project strategies and associated planning activities occurs.
  • Define the application strategy and roadmap.
  • Remain current with industry innovations and advances so as to include relevant advances and technology into specific product road map.
  • Line management responsibility for the recruitment, training, utilization, development and performance review of assigned personnel.
  • Work with external third parties as necessary in the execution of the product strategy and vision.
  • Support the entire product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
  •  Specifying requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires a minimum of 15 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biology, Bioinformatics or similar background ; or 12 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 8 years of experience.  Any equivalent combination of training, education and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
  • Experience leading software engineering teams focused on meeting Clinical and Regulatory requirements. 
  • 6 years of leadership experience recommended. 
  • Current or previous Labcorp employees preferred.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment.
  • Strong ability to collaborate, negotiation and priority setting.
  • Job must be executed within the US territory at all times due to compliance reasons.
  • Understanding of project management process in a regulated healthcare organization.
  • Good understanding of the technology components that support healthcare products.           
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills who can mobilize, grasp complex systems and processes, and design and implement process, system improvements with urgency.
  • Experience with Change Management process work, including working knowledge of Kotter's Model.
