Job Responsibilities: What you will do
Provides necessary assistance to ensure a successful and profitable relationship between KNX and the Independent Contractor.
- Assess and analyze business unit data to identify 'most help needed' (MHN) operations and/or business lines.
- Conducts regular meetings with Owner Operator Consultants to ensure all locations are consistently improving on metrics that impact owner operator retention.
- Provide regular on-site guidance on owner operator retention improvement strategies to all terminals & on site locations focusing on identified MHN locations/business lines.
- Utilize Swift's freight network to create win/win solutions that allow each owner operator to be successful and allow Swift to achieve its business objectives.
- Collaborate with terminals & the Owner Operator Department to develop, implement and continuously improve on-boarding and first year owner operator life cycle.
- Develop strategies and sponsor key initiatives to foster a culture of positive owner operator support to improve owner operator growth and retention.
- Identify and address issues related to owner operator retention. Develop appropriate issue specific training for leaders.
- Utilize network balance data and coordinate with internal departments and owner operator groups to find optimal solutions that meet service commitments.
- Forecast planning center market needs and proactively review current capacity to determine appropriate adjustments in order to provide optimal planning opportunities.
- Work closely with Director of Operations, General Managers & Swift Logistics on specific lane needs based on O/O preferences.
- Coordinate network needs & opportunities with planning leaders and identify capacity re-positioning opportunities and communicate necessary changes to designated employees.
- Monitor outbound freight with designated planning center and be the Service Champion to identify service issues.
- Create standardized reporting and dashboards for owner operator retention metrics.
- Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.

Qualifications: What you need to bring
- 5+ years' experience in transportation industry required.
- Previous leadership experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
- Must be able to lead, influence and motivate employees at all levels in a cross functional, diverse and changing environment.
- Must possess exceptional interpersonal, decision making and analytical abilities with a creative approach to problem solving.
- Must have strong decision making skills.
- Must be able to prepare and present relevant material in a way that influences others and successfully builds collaboration.
