The Opportunity
The North America Business Unit is a dynamic team spanning North America and working on a suite of thriving, long standing impactful bodies of work. The Business Unit includes NASA’s Space Apps Hackathon and Collective to a Wellbeing Economy Building initiative anchored by Headstream to a Climate Economy Building initiative anchored by For Climate Tech. The NA BU also has a Consulting practice where we connect with new clients, explore new problems, build community and / or capacity as part of our work to build economies that are good for people and the planet.
This dynamic team requires an Impact Measurement and Management (IMM) specialist in order to not just deliver on current offerings but drive impact through the Business Unit and the company. In addition, they will be in a position to contribute to the emerging consulting practice applying their research capabilities to this team supporting in the discovery and design research of programs.
Core Responsibilities
This role will support the North America Business Unit to build robust impact measurement capacity with the goal to measure, communicate and increase our positive impact in the world. Additionally, this role will sit within the Consulting team lending research skills and expertise to a variety of consulting projects.
IMPACT MEASUREMENT AND MANAGEMENT (IMM)
- Strategic Alignment and Support
- Deepen understanding of the North American program and consulting projects’ strategic direction through Impact Measurement and management (IMM) efforts.
- Capable of distilling and conveying our impact narrative through insight generation and thought leadership in collaboration with our Business Development and Marketing and Communications efforts.
- Impact Frameworks and Tools Development
- Support the execution and refinement of Theory of Change (ToC)/Logic Models and Performance Measurement Frameworks (PMF) for all of the work under the North America Business Unit (~$10M and a dozen initiatives).
- Develop and implement bespoke IMM frameworks tailored to each program, executed by Program and Operations teams that align with the broader company impact goals and strategies.
- Design, refine and codify data collection tools, such as surveys and questionnaires suitable for capturing impactful data across various programs.
- Assist in identifying relevant metrics at company, business unit and program level that reflect strategic goals
- Data Management, Analysis, and Reporting
- Work with the Director of Programs and/or the Director of Operations to lead the technical oversight of data collection.
- Lead analysis efforts in North America to generate insights that drive strategic decisions and guide refinement and improvements within our approach. Working closely with NA BU Leadership to act on insights. Report out monthly to the BU more broadly.
- Support reporting on impact, including case study development, ensuring reports are aligned with program goals, client needs, and external measurement standards. Work closely with the Studio (2M in house MarComm team) to deliver these communication assets.
- Ensure robust data management practices using tools such as HubSpot and Google Sheets, providing accessible and accurate reporting on program impact outcomes.
