About this Opportunity:
As a Director, Wealth Product Strategy, you will define the vision, roadmap, and business priorities for Orion’s wealth product offering, including proprietary and third-party solutions. This role serves as a key member of the Wealth Management Product and Platform team and focuses on identifying what Orion should build, why it matters, and how it can create differentiated advisor value, revenue growth, and scalable platform economics.
The Director leads product strategy efforts across ideation, market research, competitive intelligence, business case development, pricing strategy, positioning, and implementation design. Investment products and solutions may span all asset classes, goal orientations, vehicle structures, and platform delivery models. This role partners closely with product management, investment, distribution, operations, technology, legal/compliance, and marketing teams to translate strategic priorities into actionable initiatives that strengthen Orion’s competitive position and advisor adoption.
The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, highly analytical, commercially minded, and able to connect advisor needs, market trends, product economics, and platform capabilities into a clear strategic agenda. This role requires the ability to develop compelling business cases, influence senior stakeholders, and shape product decisions that drive growth, differentiation, and long-term value creation. It is anticipated that an incumbent in this role will work as a Hybrid employee, with three (3) or more days each week required on-site at one of the listed office locations.
Candidates should be located within a commutable distance to an office. Internal candidates currently aligned to an Orion office location may be given preference; however, internal candidates with varying work arrangements may be considered based on experience and business needs. Work location is subject to change based on business needs.
In this role, you'll get to:
Define and maintain a forward-looking investment product strategy and roadmap aligned with advisor needs, market trends, competitive gaps, and Orion’s growth priorities
Identify and evaluate new product and service opportunities across investment strategies, investment services, wealth solutions, and platform-delivered capabilities
Develop business cases supported by market opportunity sizing, competitive research, advisor demand analysis, pricing strategy, revenue modeling, profitability assessment, and implementation considerations
Build competitive intelligence across TAMPs, broker-dealers, RIAs, asset managers, and wealth platforms to inform product positioning, pricing, and differentiation
Shape product positioning, packaging, pricing, and go-to-market design in partnership with sales, marketing, product management, and distribution teams
Partner with product management and cross-functional teams to translate strategy into clear requirements, launch priorities, success metrics, and ongoing product governance
Prepare executive-level recommendations and decision materials for high-priority product initiatives, including new product development, product rationalization, pricing optimization, and partnership opportunities
We're looking for talent who:
Has strong strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize market data, advisor feedback, competitive insights, and financial analysis into actionable recommendations
Has advanced financial modeling, market sizing, pricing analysis, and business case development skills; strong Excel and PowerPoint skills required, and AI proficiency encouraged
Has deep understanding of financial services, investment products, wealth management platforms, advisor business models, and distribution dynamics
Has proven ability to conduct competitive market research, define product strategy, assess pricing strategy, develop product positioning, and evaluate commercial opportunities
Influences senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders, drive alignment, and communicate complex ideas clearly through executive-ready materials
Is comfortable operating in ambiguity, prioritizing opportunities, and balancing strategic vision with practical implementation considerations
Is collaborative, commercially oriented, intellectually curious, and biased toward action in a fast-paced, evolving environment
