Job Summary:
The Senior Manager of Data Center Operations is responsible for overseeing and managing the efficient functioning of the organization's data centers. The role involves leading a team, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of data center infrastructure. This role develops long-term strategies, plans for infrastructure expansion, and implements automation initiatives. They also focus on risk management, compliance with security standards, global disaster recovery planning, and budget management. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge, strategic planning abilities, and effective leadership and communication skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensuring the efficiency, security, and reliability of data center infrastructure, contributing to the overall success of the organization's IT operations
• Data Center Management: Supervising and ensuring the smooth functioning of data center operations, including monitoring infrastructure performance, and addressing any operational issues
• Team Leadership: Managing and mentoring data center engineering responsibilities to maintain a productive and cohesive team
• Infrastructure Planning: Developing and implementing strategic plans for data center infrastructure, capacity planning, and expansion to meet the organization's needs
• Risk Management: Identifying potential risks to data center operations and implementing mitigation strategies for resilience and business continuity
• Security and Compliance: Ensuring data center operations comply with relevant security standards and industry regulations to protect critical data and systems
• Vendor Management: Overseeing relationships with data center service providers, negotiating contracts, and monitoring service level agreements
• Budgeting and Cost Optimization: Managing data center budgets and seeking cost optimization opportunities to align with financial goals
• Performance Monitoring: Implementing monitoring tools and procedures to track data center performance metrics and analyze trends for improvements
• Disaster Recovery Planning: Develop, implement, and test data center disaster recovery plans
• Environmental Sustainability: Promoting energy-efficient practices and green initiatives within data centers
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering discipline or relevant field preferred
• Minimum of 12 years’ experience in data center industry, with 6 years in management is highly desired
• Strong leadership and communication skills to lead a team and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex challenges
• Extensive experience in data center infrastructure operations and management, with a strong focus on overseeing data center activities
• Comprehensive understanding of data center infrastructure, including servers, networking, LAN, WAN, VPN, Wireless & storage technologies, automation, devops, hybrid cloud architecture & design, observability & monitoring, and virtualization technologies
• Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing strategic plans for data center infrastructure, capacity planning, and expansion
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, particularly in high-pressure situations
• Experience in identifying potential risks to data center operations and implementing strategies for business continuity
• Solid project management skills to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
• Related certifications is good to have
Salary Range
$112,700 - $179,500
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
