Prologis is looking for a Chef de Projet Construction (called Development Manager in our Business) for its subsidiary based in Paris. The company is offering a unique opportunity for an experienced Construction/Real Estate professional who sees their future in an international business. You will be based in Paris, liaising with all departments in our European Headquarters.

The focus of this role is managing the construction process of Logistic Real Estate developments ranging from 10,000 to 100,000 sqm. The Chef de Projet Construction is responsible for the overall coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of various levels of construction projects within the logistical development sector. In addition, the candidate must have the ability to interact with all levels of management to ensure the success of the project from start to completion, including securing the business.

You will work in close collaboration with our Capital Deployment, Leasing, Investment Services, and Property Management teams to fully understand a broad scope of the real estate business. You will receive high-quality supervision and mentoring in this role to help you grow into a logistics real estate expert. This role reports to the French Head of Development Management .

What’s needed in order to do that:

  • Proactively and independently manage and monitor the construction process of multiple projects in various phases, from project initiation to completion.
  • Maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Collaborate with Capital Deployment on their day-to-day (customer-facing) tasks from a technical perspective, such as analyzing incoming offers, attending client meetings, and providing advice and recommendations on technical topics.
  • Participate in the design process of new projects and redevelopments, providing input on budget, schedule, and constructability. Take accountability for quality, time, and budget control for overall project delivery.
  • Coordinate tenant improvement works within new properties.
  • Monitor construction cost changes to control budgets and maintain discipline within the team.
  • Engage, direct, and manage engineering consultants, architects, construction companies, and other project participants as needed to complete projects on time, within budget, and to the desired quality.
  • Review and interpret plans, specifications, and other project documents.
  • Prepare vendor requests for proposals (tenders), analyze/align bids, and make award recommendations. Negotiate and prepare construction and consultant contracts.
  • Perform regular on-site monitoring and quality control functions; manage and resolve punch lists and potential issues and problems.
  • Review and track project invoices to ensure invoice amounts align with adjusted contract values and work completed to date.
  • Develop, manage, and update project schedules incorporating all phases of the project cycle.
  • Create and manage detailed project budgets. This includes tracking budget reallocations, change orders, commitments, expenditures, forecasts, and analysis on a regular basis.
  • Report project status regularly to Management.
  • Through innovative mindset, initiate suggestions for company-wide process improvements and “best practices”.
  • Lead our NetZero 2040 efforts that includes carbon neutral development, defossilizing energy use and implement innovative ideas that help Company reduce its carbon footprint in an efficient manner
