HR Generalist
GrimcoAbout the role
Company Description
Grimco is a family-owned, $1.5B manufacturer and wholesale distributor of sign supplies operating across 65+ locations spanning 3 countries. As an HR Generalist at Grimco, you’ll own a geographic territory in the US – half the country – and serve as the go-to HR partner for the managers and employees in your region. That means touching nearly every corner of HR: recruiting, benefits, employee relations, workers’ compensation, HRIS, and more. You won’t specialize in one thing and watch the rest happen around you. You’ll be the person managers call, the person employees trust, and the person who knows what’s happening on the ground.
Job Description
Territory HR Partnership
· Serve as the first point of contact for employee and manager concerns within your territory - workplace conflicts, performance issues, policy questions, and conduct matters
· Guide managers through difficult conversations with sound, consistent advise
· Develop working relationships with location managers and team leads across your region, gaining familiarity with their operations, staffing patterns, and ongoing challenges
· Periodically visit key locations in your territory to maintain in-person relationships and observe site-level operations firsthand
· Partner with your co-Generalist to maintain consistency in HR practices, policy application, and employee experience across both territories
Benefits Administration
· Serve as a contact for employee benefits inquiries and issues
· Coordinate open enrollment processes and ensure timely communication to employees

· Partner with hiring managers across sales, warehouse, manufacturing, and corporate functions to understand staffing needs
· Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding processes
· Ensure new employees complete all required paperwork, system access requests, and orientation activities
Workers’ Compensation & Safety Administration
· Initiate and manage workers' compensation claims through Grimco's Third Party Administrator (TPA) for Workers' Compensation, serving as the primary liaison between Grimco, the TPA, and injured employees throughout the claims process.
· Partner with managers to ensure First Report of Injury forms and all incident documentation are completed accurately and submitted to the carrier in a timely manner.
· Maintain accurate claim records in Grimco's Safety Software and our TPA’s portal, including medical documentation, physician restrictions, and the internal claims tracker.
HR Administration
· Serve as the primary ADP Workforce Now administrator for your territory, maintaining accurate employee records across job changes, reporting structure modifications, and terminations
· Manage timecard approvals and follow up with managers on discrepancies, corrections, and outstanding approvals in a timely manner
· Manage the annual performance review cycle in ADP, ensuring reviews are assigned correctly and making adjustments as needed
· Contribute to HR projects and process improvement initiatives as the team and company continue to grow
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience
· 2-4 years of progressive human resources experience preferred
