About the role:

The Platform Reports team focuses on building a highly scalable, low-latency reporting framework that enables Samsara’s internal teams to deliver powerful analytics and insights to our customers. This framework also empowers customers to customize and tailor this information to meet their specific needs. As an Engineering Manager for the Reporting team at Samsara, you will oversee efforts to develop impactful features for both current and future customers. You’ll play a critical role in standardizing and streamlining how Samsara teams transform data into meaningful analytics, while also enhancing users’ ability to leverage valuable insights through intuitive and powerful interfaces. In this role, you’ll grow and develop your team, define roadmaps and project plans, and collaborate with your engineers to drive the evolution of next-generation technology across our platform.

We use Golang for our backend, Typescript and React for our web client, GraphQL to fetch data from our backend, and React Native for our mobile app. Direct experience with these technologies is not required.

This role is open to candidates residing in the US except the San Francisco Bay Area and NYC Metro Area. The role is based in North America but may require collaboration with teams in the EMEA region. This includes occasional participation in meetings scheduled between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM Central European Time (9:00 AM–11:00 AM EST).

• Create and drive the execution of a strategic roadmap for Samsara’s Platform, partnering with senior management and cross-functional teams.
• Steer our technical strategy by working closely with senior engineers.
• Hire and develop exceptional engineering talent.
