The Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer is a critical role in helping the Product Marketing organization define and build new data infrastructure to better understand the impact that we deliver for our customers. This role will define requirements to align disparate data sets, build and manage ongoing reporting of Product Marketing analytics, provide user requirements to product and engineering teams to streamline data management (metadata, taxonomy), and work cross-functionally with Product Marketing stakeholders to build solutions that can minimize manual or redundant workflows. This role requires a mix of data expertise and a strong operational mindset. This role will have high-visibility and an opportunity to regularly communicate results to leadership.

Key job responsibilities
• Own the design, development and maintenance of scalable data solutions for ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. that support analytical and business needs
• Recognize and adopt best practices in data engineering, reporting and analysis: data integrity, design, analysis, validation, and documentation
• Use analytical and statistical rigor to answer business questions and drive business decisions
• Find and create ways to measure the customer experience using an array of datasets to drive business outcomes
• Develop queries and visualizations for ad-hoc requests and projects, as well as ongoing reporting
• Drive data governance methodologies across the Amazon Ads portfolio to ensure best practices for tracking product performance
• Write queries and output efficiently, and have in-depth knowledge of the data available in area of expertise. Pull the data needed with standard query syntax; periodically identify more advanced methods of query optimization. Convert data to make it analysis-ready
• Review, audit, and maintain existing ETL jobs and queries
• Scope new datasets from both internal and external data sources that contribute to a holistic view of Ads product performance
Drive AI-enabled automation initiatives to increase operational efficiency

About the team
The GTM Strategy & Operations team supports Amazon Ads' Go-To-Market operating model, building the enablement infrastructure that powers PMM's product launch process. We focus on process optimization, data infrastructure, AI-enabled automation, and cross-functional collaboration across Product, Marketing, and Sales. Our team builds tools and frameworks that help PMM deliver measurable outcomes for Amazon Ads customers while driving operational efficiency across the organization. This role will work closely with Product Marketing stakeholders to establish data governance standards and measurement capabilities that support strategic business goals.

Basic Qualifications


- 7+ years of professional or military experience
- 5+ years of SQL experience
- 1+ years of performing statistical analysis experience
- 1+ years of developing automated reporting experience
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
