A role in Buying means working with several diverse vendors to choose the best product mix, both in-store and online. We help determine where to localize, while calibrating market positioning and acting as brand managers. Here, you’ll own a wide SKU count so that your work is varied and challenging. Through cross-functional collaboration, instinct and creativity, you will be the expert on the guest, the market and the competition.

A Senior Buyer helps create omni-channel growth by planning profitable and locally relevant assortments using your grasp of guest shopping behavior, assortment requirements and competitors. You will influence and negotiate with vendors to achieve results and identify gaps and opportunities. Your flexibility in reacting to business results and your ability to translate financial metrics and data into actionable strategies will be critical. You will lead cross-functional teams to drive category results while managing progress toward sales and margin goals. Your partnerships with product designers and/or category mangers and vendors will help guide product development as you source appropriately for your category. You will interact with Associate Buyers, Senior Merchandise Specialists, the Pricing and Promotion Center of Excellence, Planning, Site Merchandising, the Item Center of Excellence and many other expert partners in support of your promotional planning work across channels.

This role requires a high level of financial acumen and negotiation savvy to manage Target’s relationships with highly influential partners and a gut instinct for culture and trend to maintain Target as the destination for trending beverages where limited and exclusive assortments routinely become top items Beyond managing a robust calendar of newness and LTO offerings within the category, this senior buyer role consistently participates in broader Enterprise LTO collaborations with A&A, Home, and Fun101 and manages the strategy for Front of Store Beverages. This role needs a high-energy, team-first leader who not only has a passion for frequent change and seasonality but is also an operational expert in partnering with stores, with complexities of DSD and supporting a supply chain that has hundreds of distributors

  • Innovative, bold thinking that challenges the status quo, with a proven track record of business growth in a volatile environment
  • Expertise in creating strategy in operationally complex categories and demonstrated ability to lead with innovation
  • Experience collaborating with Enterprise-level strategic vendor partners (Coca Cola, Pepsi-Frito Lay)
  • Ability to identify trend, establish a go-to-market strategy, and execute in a fast-paced frequency business
  • A background across the roundtable and skilled in partnering with field leaders to support the decentralized DSD supply chain
  • Experience leading Enterprise workstreams and CFTs, preferably with LTO experience
  • A charismatic, high-energy leader with a passion for shaping team culture and elevati
