Staff Data Engineer

WellSky is seeking a top-notch Staff Data Engineer to join our next-generation business intelligence team. Your focus will involve leading teammates and enabling WellSky’s business units in preparing and consuming data to facilitate the production of valuable business intelligence solutions for WellSky clients. You will be part of an empowered team to bring a standardized view of client's data across various solutions into a single pane of glass, allowing them to better observe, report and perform actions to improve the health of their patients!   

You will have a direct impact on the users of our solutions in a wide variety of care settings and many others who are on the front lines of healthcare. Your hard work will also touch the lives of real people and families navigating life and death issues with the support of our solutions. A day in the life!    

You will be responsible for the following:    

• Leading, mentoring and collaborating with other bright engineers (Data, Software, & Dev/Ops). 
• Developing data solutions to enable new product & BI development for the Enterprise and its multiple lines of business.  
• Designing, developing and maintaining the cloud-based data architecture, data models and standards, combined with other technologies. 
• Developing and maintaining documentation of the data architecture, data flows and data models.  

Do you have what it takes?   

Required Experience:   

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
  8-10 years related work experience in business intelligence solutions, including system administration, data modeling, and visualization development
• Proven leadership of small agile teams 
• Skilled in deploying Infrastructure as Code 
• Adept at ETL/ELT development and optimization
• Skilled in a database cloud technology
• Highly skilled in SQL

Do you stand above the rest?   

Preferred Experience:      

• Experience in Postgres, IBM DB2i, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Snowflake and BigQuery 
• Experience in HVR data replication technologies
• Proficient working with large, structured data sets
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform
• Strong understanding of Data Governance
• Experience with DBT
• Experience with Linux operating systems
