Job Description:

Your Work Shapes the World at Caterpillar Inc.

When you join Caterpillar, you're joining a global team who cares not just about the work we do – but also about each other.  We are the makers, problem solvers, and future world builders who are creating stronger, more sustainable communities. We don't just talk about progress and innovation here – we make it happen, with our customers, where we work and live. Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.

Role Summary:

If you are passionate about helping customers make confident decisions and want to shape how product information drives real business outcomes, this is the opportunity for you.

Caterpillar is looking for an experienced product leader – Product Information & Catalog Manager - to own how product information supports customer confidence across the eCommerce experience. This role sits at the center of how customers understand, evaluate, and ultimately choose the right part, directly impacting conversion, repeat usage, and long-term trust.

You will be responsible for defining how product information works end-to-end, from how it is structured in systems to how it shows up in the catalog, product pages, search engines, and AI-generated answers.

Your focus is not on content completeness, but on ensuring customers can clearly understand what they are buying and feel confident completing their purchase.

You will lead a cross-functional team responsible for catalog clarity, product validation, localization, SEO & AI answers, and content operations. You will partner closely with Engineering, Search, and business teams to ensure product information is accurate, consistent, and effective in helping customers make the right choice the first time.

This is a highly cross-functional role requiring strong product judgment, analytical thinking, and customer empathy. You will advocate for customers by deeply understanding where confusion exists and driving improvements that increase conversion and build lasting trust in Caterpillar’s digital experience.

What You Will do:

  • Define and lead a product information strategy focused on customer trust, clarity, and confident decision-making

  • Ensure customers can clearly understand products and select the right part without confusion

  • Drive improvements that increase conversion, first-time purchase success, and repeat usage

  • Lead a team responsible for:

  • Content Systems (data structure and flow)

  • Catalog clarity (how products are understood and differentiated)

  • Product validation (ensuring confidence at the point of purchase)

  • SEO & AI answers (turning search traffic into confident decisions)

  • Localization (ensuring global content works locally)

  • Content operations (executing updates accurately and efficiently)

  • Identify and remove friction that leads to hesitation, incorrect purchases, or drop-off

  • Ensure product information supports accurate answers in search engines and AI tools

  • Drive alignment between Search, Catalog, and PDP to improve end-to-end decision clarity

  • Partner with Engineering to deliver scalable solutions that improve product information quality

  • Establish clear prioritization based on customer impact, not content volume

  • Build strong partnerships with subject matter experts to ensure product information is accurate and trusted

Success in this role looks like:

  • Customers can quickly understand products and confidently complete purchases

  • Conversion rates improve, especially for first time buyers

  • Increased repeat usage of eCommerce due to higher customer trust

  • Customers arriving from search or AI tools are informed and ready to act

  • Product information issues are solved at the root, not repeatedly patched

  • Priorities are based on impact to customer decisions, not coverage targets

  • Subject matter expert input is used efficiently and scaled across the business.

What you will have:

  • Proven experience in product management, eCommerce, or digital product strategy

  • Demonstrated ability to drive measurable business outcomes (conversion, adoption)

  • Strong ability to connect customer behavior, data, and product decisions
