Job Description
CGG’s Earth Data team is looking for passionate, creative, and hard-working individuals with a customer-obsessed entrepreneurial mindset to join our team as a Business Development Associate. The successful candidate will become a key contributor in CGG’s drive to expand our position in the Mining and Critical Minerals market by delivering data-centric solutions to our clients.
Reporting to the Mining and Critical Minerals Business Development Manager, the Business Development Associate is responsible for identifying, collecting, curating and organizing data and information necessary for CGG to develop commercial projects targeted at the global
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
- Collect, curate and provide base-level organization of public domain, internal and partner datasets for use in integrated data studies
- Work with internal Digital Data team and third party vendors to facilitate larger data scraping activities
- Develop, implement and maintain efficient data organizational structures
- Work with the Sales and Business Development teams, and directly with clients, to ensure data collection activities are aligned with project development needs
- Generate visualizations to demonstrate progress and value of data collected
- Liaise with internal and external project teams to ensure efficient handover of project data and receive and process any additional in-project data requests
- Document and filter data through source and provider terms and conditions, liaising with Legal where necessary
- Participate in client and internal meetings to communicate on data related issues.
Qualifications
- Academic background in Mining, Geoscience, Engineering, or other related disciplines would be desired; or related experience
- Working knowledge of GIS is required. ArcPro preferred.
- Good technical working knowledge of geological and geophysical datasets
- Experience developing mining and/or ground or airborne geophysics projects preferred
- Self-starter that is well organized with excellent time management skills; is meticulous, intellectually curious and has an attention to detail
- Team player that is able to work effectively with various internal and external teams is a must
- The ability to communicate effectively internal and external to the working group, peers, and management
- Advanced English language skills – read, write, and speak.
- Functional Spanish language skills – read, write, and speak desirable
