The Retail Excess Casualty division of Everest Insurance, a member of the Everest Re Group, Ltd. is looking for a National Account Excess Casualty Underwriter to join our East Coast Team.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Grow, manage, and maintain a profitable, diversified book of excess casualty business for the National Account Excess Casualty Division

• Underwrite and analyze new and renewal business within delegated authority levels while adhering to underwriting rules and guidelines

• Develop and maintain relationships with brokers to facilitate a flow of desirable new business and to maintain renewal business via quality service

• Collaborate with other related segments along with regional colleagues and internal/external business associates.

• Analyze new business for risk profitability as determined by a review of underwriting, claims and financial data.

• Underwrite renewal business according to current underwriting approach and philosophy in a service oriented environment, ensuring high renewal retention.

• Collaborate with corporate underwriting, claims, actuary, operations, and marketing to achieve collective team goals.

• Obtain, assess and communicate competitive factors in the marketplace

Qualifications, Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or above and/or insurance certifications

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in underwriting casualty business 

• Demonstrated ability to generate profitable new business

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies: 

• Strong relationship management skills

• Excellent analytical, communication, and computer skills

• Ability to successfully complete multiple tasks concurrently within a fast-paced, team-oriented, working environment

• Customer-oriented approach
