JOB SUMMARY
The Advanced Technologies Laboratory Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and replacement of lab equipment that includes fluid power, electrical components, and mechanical components with the Advanced Technologies program. Responsibilities also include inventory of equipment and consumables, organizational duties of all equipment and parts, and maintaining technical documentation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Prepare classrooms and labs for daily needs as expressed by faculty and/or the department chair.
- Perform maintenance on all lab equipment (fluid, mechanical, and electrical). This will include repair and/or replacement of faulty parts.
- Maintain orderly labs utilizing 5S principles.
- Maintain the inventory of the parts utilized in capstone projects.
- Maintain electronic and paper technical documentation.
- Maintain multi-media components.
- Clean labs as necessary.
- Maintain OSHA standards and maintain MSDS documentation for required materials.
EQUIPMENT
Upgrade training equipment components when necessary. Make minor repairs to training equipment. Be able to use a pallet jack, basic hand tools, electric and battery-powered tools.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Have a basic understanding of electrical and mechanical components and parts. Have the ability to use basic hand tools and electric and battery-powered tools.
JOB STANDARDS/QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma.
- Proficient in using personal computers.
- Maintain OSHA standards for classrooms and labs
JOB LOCATION
The position is an on-site role in the Advanced Technologies Building, located on the main campus of Cleveland State Community College in Cleveland, Tennessee.
