Position Information

We are seeking a Financial Accountant I, who under direction, provides clerical and basic accounting support for fleet financial operations under close supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Performs clerical, accounting and customer service support duties in a specialized field within Administrative Services of Texas A&M AgriLife for Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service.
• Performs routine data entry into fleet and financial systems (FAMIS, AggieBuy, Canopy, FAMISWeb, VCA, Laserfiche, TX Fleet Mgmt. System, etc.)
• Assists with vehicle records, documentation, and processing
• Supports basic audits by verifying data accuracy
• Provides customer service support and responds to routine inquiries (scheduling fleet pool vehicles, etc.)
• Assists with purchasing documentation and administrative tasks
• Supports vehicle coordination activities (titles, plates, fuel cards, pickups)
• May require occasionally driving various vehicles
• Serves as back up for Texas A&M Research vehicle data entry
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (4 years of experience with High School diploma or 2 years of experience with an Associates Degree).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Accounting experience in a business office. Property or Fleet Management experience especially within the Texas A&M University System.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to obtain a valid Texas Driver's License

• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
