The Enoch Pratt Library has an immediate opening for a Library Delivery Driver. The Driver will be responsible for transporting goods from between library branches. The Driver operates vehicles such as automobiles, vans, buses, panel or pick-up trucks.
This position will require random drug and alcohol testing.

Summary of Duties:
Our Drivers will sort, handle, load, and/or unload freight at various branch locations.
Our Pickup and Delivery drivers typically work Monday-Friday.
Operate vehicle safely within Pratt policy.
Conduct all pre and post trip inspections of assigned equipment.
Understand and carry out oral or written instructions, including those on manifests and other shipping documents to determine the nature and amount of freight loaded.
Use safe handling and lifting procedures to load and unload freight with the assistance of hand trucks, pallet jacks and any other available equipment to move, load, arrange and rearrange freight.
Perform work required in a timely and safe manner.
Maintain adequate production in order to meet service schedules.
Provide professional representation of the company when in contact with public safety, law enforcement officials and the general public
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or possession of a GED certificate
Valid Maryland drivers license with a good driving record.
2 years of experience in delivery driving or a similar profession.
Physical Requirements: Physical exertion and recurring activities such as bending, crouching, reaching; pushing loaded book carts; or recurring lifting of moderately heavy items such as boxes of books or journals.
Preferred Qualifications:
Valid CDL drivers license.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Safely operate a commercial vehicle to deliver packages in a timely manner
Load and unload packages from the delivery vehicle
Follow delivery routes and schedules efficiently
Communicate effectively with customer and colleagues
Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving
Perform heavy lifting and moving of packages as needed
Utilize communication skills to update delivery status and address any issues
Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery vehicle
Demonstrate professionalism and reliability in all interactions with customer and team members
Position of Trust: Those under final consideration for appointment will be required to authorize the release of and successfully complete a criminal conviction check.
