What You Will Do:
Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Field Service Representative / Maintenance Supervisor to serve as a member of our F119 Field Team supporting the F-22 Raptor operations at Langley Air Force Base, Hampton VA.
In this role the candidate will provide daily support & expertise to resolve technical and logistical issues involving the F119 engine operation on wing, on test cell, and in back shop maintenance activities, as well as supervise hourly maintenance personnel.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Assist P&W Site Manager to ensure all objectives of the F119 Contractor Support Plan are met.
- Support flight line operations to ensure no sorites are missed due to engine issues. When issues do arise, troubleshoot, and return engine to service in a timely manner.
- Utilize P&W tools such as MERLIN, ADATS & TOD to assist in providing cohesive, accurate, and timely support.
- Continue to support successful maturation and improvement of the F119 support systems such as AEFR, IMIS, and TOD.
- Support our customers on all maintenance levels of the F119 engine including Limited Intermediate, P&W Full Intermediate, On-wing Organizational levels. This position has a high degree of customer interface from senior leadership and pilots to airmen.
- Use self-initiative and judgment utilizing CORE tools to identify problems, conduct thorough investigations to determine root causes and coordinate solutions between P&W Customer Support Engineering, Logistics Program Management, the Air National Guard/USAF/AF Reserves, and associate contractors -Boeing and Lockheed Martin.
- Provide leadership and direction to hourly personnel with emphasis on team building through daily toolbox meetings, effective communication, managing priorities and resolving conflict.
- Coordinate F119 propulsion system maintenance activities in the P&W engine shop.
- Lead investigations involving technician maintenance, experience, and processes to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure maintenance capabilities are maintained and improved through management of technician certifications, training, performance assessments, and coaching.
- Manage the selection, interview, and hiring of technicians.
- While this position will supervise 1st shift personnel and be required to often work 1st shift to manage the team effectively, candidate must be willing to work any shift to support business needs to include participating in a shift rotation.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in in engineering or related technical field with 5+ years’ work experience in jet propulsion, engine maintenance, field service, or customer technical support, or, advanced degree and 3+ years’ experience in jet propulsion, engine maintenance, field service, or customer technical support required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership, relationship management, and conflict resolution is a plus.
- Experience with F-22/F119 or military engines, its support systems, and use of TOD.
