About the role

<p>Hillenbrand is seeking an experienced <b>Global Trade Compliance Senior Manager to </b>support our<b> Food, Health &amp; Nutrition </b>as well as <b>Mold-Masters </b>and<b> DME </b>business operations, to provide hands on subject matter expertise and help develop, execute, and monitor our global compliance trade program globally within the above mentioned business units.  This role will be located in the EU and will support all global locations.</p><p></p><p>The position can be based out of our offices in <b>Stuttgart</b> or <b>Osnabrück</b>.</p><p></p><p><b>Work you'll do:</b></p><p></p><ul><li><p><span>Develop, implement, and maintain global import/export compliance policies and procedures aligned with international trade laws and company standards.</span><span> </span><span> </span></p></li><li><p><span>Oversee and support import/export documentation, licensing, and classification processes across multiple regions, including the US, Germany, and India.</span><span> </span><span> </span></p></li><li><p><span>Lead and coordinate trade compliance activities across global teams to ensure adherence to regulations such as CETA, REACH, ROHS, PROP 65, and others.</span><span> </span><span> </span></p></li><li><p><span>Manage and monitor dual-use technology control policies, including identifying and mitigating associated risks.</span><span> </span><span> </span></p></li><li><p><span>Conduct trade compliance risk assessments, investigations, and root cause analyses, and lead corrective action initiatives.</span><span> </span><span> </span></p></li><li><p><span>Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including legal, regulatory, logistics, and finance—to streamline compliance processes and support trade strategy.</span><span> </span><span> </span></p></li><li><p><span>Stay updated on changes in international trade laws, tariffs, and trade agreements, and adapt compliance programs accordingly.</span><span> </span><span> </span></p></li><li><p><span>Support and lead tariff classification efforts, including HTS database management and the preparation of binding rulings.</span><span> </span><span> </span></p></li><li><p><span>Provide training and guidance to regional teams to ensure understanding and compliance with export/import regulations and internal policies.</span><span> </span><span> </span></p></li><li><p><span>Prepare and support audit activities related to trade compliance, including internal reviews and external regulatory inspections.</span><span> </span><span> </span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Team: </b>This position will have one (1) direct report.</p><p></p><p><b>Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li><p>Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business Management or equivalent</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated continued compliance education</p></li><li><p>Several years of hands on trade compliance experience</p></li><li><p>Ability to communicate efficiently on various levels within a matrix organization</p></li><li><p>Trade compliance knowledge across USA, Canada, Mexico, EU, Asia, India and South America</p></li><li><p>Proven experience in delivering trade compliance trainings</p></li><li><p>Strong cross functional problem-solving skills</p></li><li><p>Fluent English skills are a must</p></li><li><p>Fluent German or French are desirable</p></li><li><p>Ability to travel up to 30% of time</p></li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b>Who we are:<span>  </span></b><br/><br/>Hillenbrand (NYSE: HI) is a global industrial company that provides highly-engineered, mission-critical processing equipment and solutions to customers in over 100 countries around the world.
