Job Summary:

The Director of Abdominal Transplant has comprehensive operational authority and responsibility for multiple designated solid organ transplant-specific clinical areas. Creates a patient-focused, high-performance, high-commitment work team which supports the mission, vision and credo of the Vanderbilt Clinical Enterprise. Maintains the established goals of the Transplant Patient Care Center and the Clinical Enterprise.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develops goals and objectives for the department based on interpretation of institutional policy and goals.
• Participates in the establishment of the mission, strategic plan, budgets, resource allocation, operational plans, and policies for the Hospital and Vanderbilt Clinic, prioritizing a collaborative work environment, embodying the multidisciplinary structure of the Transplant Center.
• Responsible to the Associate Nursing Officer/Chief Nursing Officer for the integration of transplant-specific nursing and practice across the Clinical Enterprise.
• Actively engages in activities promoting organ donation and organ transplantation, locally and nationally.
• Acts as a clinical, administrative, and operational leader for assigned areas; mentor for reporting leaders and peers.
