Johnson & Johnson MedTech is recruiting for a Manager, HW Reliability Testing, within our Robotics & Digital Solutions organization. The location for this position is Santa Clara, CA.

Mission:
We’re looking for a highly motivated and experienced manager who can lead the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of reliability testing programs to ensure products meet or exceed lifetime, safety and quality expectations. This role manages test strategy, lab operations, cross-functional coordination, and supplier testing activities, driving data driven‑ decisions to reduce field failures and improve product robustness. The successful candidate will inherit a small existing team and projects, requiring the manager to both grow the team and provide technical guidance.
Core Job Responsibilities:
Define and implement reliability test strategies (accelerated life testing, HALT/HASS, thermal/thermal cycling, vibration, shock, electrical stress).
Develop test protocols, acceptance criteria, and test schedules aligned with product requirements and regulatory standards.
Lead, mentor, and resource-manage a team of test engineers, technicians, and lab staff.
Oversee lab operations: equipment selection, calibration, capacity planning, maintenance, and safety/compliance.
Coordinate cross-functional test campaigns with design, manufacturing, quality, and field service teams.
Manage external test labs and suppliers — vendor selection, test specifications, contract oversight, and result validation.
Work with Design for Reliability and core design teams to analyze test data, interpret failure modes, and drive corrective/preventive actions using root cause methods (FMEA, 8D, DMAIC).
Maintain test documentation and ensure traceability: test plans, reports, data logs, and change records.
Monitor and review metrics and reporting for reliability performance, present insights into engineering leadership and stakeholders.
Drive continuous improvement of test methods, automation, and data analytics to increase throughput and reduce test cycle times.
Lead and participate in refining the reliability and testing related processes.
