What You’ll Do
The Medicare National Partnerships Manager is an integral member of the National Network team, reporting directly to the Medicare National Partnerships Director. This role is a key contributor for leading value-based relationships and driving growth strategy across the rapidly expanding Cigna Medicare business. You must possess the energy to mobilize a matrixed team for providers at all stages of the value-based continuum.
Core Responsibilities:
- Oversees a team leading the national value-based provider growth strategy and execution plan.
- Leads performance management reporting, inclusive of executive communications internally and externally, tracking Key Performance Indicators and ongoing ROI on planned initiatives. Presents executive level materials for JOCs, provider growth summits, and Cigna Medicare leadership. Serves as external account owner to Provider C-suite.
- Partners with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Market Performance teams, and Contracting to support the growth and performance for national agreements.
- Subject Matter Expert for national contracting and reimbursement methodologies, operational systems and processes, and CMS policy and regulatory changes. Ensures downstream compliance across all strategic initiatives. Assists Contracting teams with increasingly complex contracts and negotiations for sophisticated value-based reimbursements with Medicare provider partners, as needed.
- Initiates and maintains effective channels of communication with matrix partners including but not limited to national and local sales, marketing, broker distribution channels, telesales, and customer service to drive tactical efforts to achieve provider growth.
- Executes department and enterprise-wide initiatives related to provider network strategy and value-based solutions. Is a key contributor to the Director of National Value-Based Sales and partners closely with Provider Marketing department.
- People-leader, highly-matrixed role. Must work by influencing/building relationships with others and ensuring effective and positive relationships across the Cigna organization.
What You Bring:
- Degree in health administration, business administration, or another related field (Master’s Degree desirable) and/or equivalent relevant experience in progressively responsible roles focused on managed Medicare and provider engagement.
- Experience managing and negotiating major provider contracts preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of value-based contracting (reimbursement structures and payment methodologies) for both hospitals and providers is required.
- Experience in developing and managing relationships across a cross-functional and matrixed environment.
- Effective communicator to both executives and external audiences, balanced with strong interpersonal skills.
- A team player with experience in complex environments with the ability to build consensus among divergent interests and competing organizational needs
- Preferred: specialized knowledge and experience with configuration, claims, and downstream service and operating systems
