Senior Lead Database Software Engineer (Hybrid)

Broadridge is hiring!  We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SQL Developer with expertise in SQL Server and Oracle databases. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our database management and development efforts, contributing to the design, optimization, and maintenance of our database systems. This role requires a strong grasp of SQL, database architecture, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

We are made up of high performing teams that meet in person to learn and collaborate as needed. This role is considered hybrid, which means you’ll be assigned to a Broadridge office and given the flexibility to work remote.

Responsibilities:

• Database Development

Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions in SQL Server and Oracle environments.

               Ensure database code adheres to best practices for performance, security, and maintainability.

• Database Optimization

               Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, fine-tuning queries, and optimizing database structures to enhance system performance.

               Monitor database health and proactively address issues to maintain optimal performance.

• Database Design and Architecture

               Collaborate with the architecture team to design and implement database solutions that align with business requirements and scalability needs.

               Participate in database schema design, data modeling, and data integration initiatives.

• Data Security and Compliance

               Implement and enforce security measures to protect sensitive data within the databases.

               Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and company policies.

• Data Migration and ETL

               Manage data migration projects, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.

               Develop and maintain ETL scripts to integrate data from various sources.

• Performance Monitoring and Tuning

               Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.

               Implement performance tuning strategies to optimize query execution and overall database performance.

• Documentation and Reporting

               Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of database schemas, processes, and configurations.

               Generate and present reports on database performance and project progress to stakeholders.

• Collaboration and Support

               Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and business analysts, to understand and address database-related requirements.

               Provide technical support and guidance to junior developers and team members.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.

• Proven experience as a SQL Developer with a focus on SQL Server and Oracle databases.

• Proficiency in SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL, and database query optimization.

• Strong knowledge of database design principles and best practices.

• Familiarity with data modeling tools and techniques.

• Experience with ETL processes and tools (e.g., SSIS, Informatica) is desirable.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders.

• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure SQL Database Administrator, Oracle Database Administrator) are a plus.
