Job Description Summary:

Director, Technology Strategic Sourcing has the responsibility for managing the sourcing life cycle for the Technology spend categories north of $1B annually. The role will lead a team of sourcing professionals who will co-develop the direction for the Technology subcategories and execute against established strategic plans. This role will ensure that the sourcing team meets cost reduction, risk reduction & mitigation, and other targets and leverages the capabilities of the supply market to help internal clients gain and sustain a competitive advantage.

Job Description:

Position expectations require deep Technology strategic sourcing expertise with high - levels of stakeholder engagement, alignment and collaboration with Category Management. Responsible for ensuring that Strategic Sourcing is involved at the earliest stages by using insightful market data and bringing forward compelling recommendations to further shape the strategy.

  • Provide direction across Technology functional areas and programs
  • Partner with business internal clients in co-developing sound category strategies, identifying, sourcing, and securing services based on business requirements/results
  • Synthesize the supply base and establish strong partnership relationships with critical suppliers and business stakeholders
  • As the Director Technology Strategic Sourcing, you will bring world-class sophistication to our sourcing activities on a consistent basis
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to increase the influence of sourcing across the globe
  • Be the central point of contact for guidance and support for all Strategic Sourcing matters
  • Overseeing in sourcing and negotiation activity in the specification of requirements, requests for proposals, evaluation, and supplier selection.  Through deep analysis, actively find opportunities, co-develop strategies and category plans that deliver significant value, implement and drive those through, guiding and managing stakeholders along the way.
  • Remain current with market trends through relationships with third parties and market experts; identifying and communicating innovative technologies and key problems in the assigned spend areas.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • 12 + years of experience in Technology Strategic Sourcing and Procurement
  • Telecom, Connectivity, Hardware, Application Service Providers (ASP), Software as a Service (SaaS), Infrastructure, Data Centers, Cloud Providers
  • Prior leadership experience with proven record in:
  • Strategic Sourcing Operating Model and Process Design
  • Delivering large-scale Strategic Sourcing transformations across various industries
  • Advised Exec Level management in their strategic blueprints - based on data analysis, experience, expertise, and an innovative approach
  • Knowledge in challenging the "status quo," creating transparency for clients, helping them understand the implications of their costs, synthesizing & advising how to improve.  Experienced leader with ability to influence decisions without directing.  Ability to partner well with internal clients and drive results naturally
  • Developed and upskilled Sourcing professionals with best-in-class strategic sourcing practices reflecting specific and measurable attributes as part of their "toolbox."
  • Developed and executed comprehensive category strategy encompassing end to end technology services and products
  • Minimum of a BS; MBA / JD degree a plus
  • Experience working in a global organization is preferred
  • Understand Category Management function / approach
  • Prominent level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Knowledge of Procure-to-Pay tool(s), Ariba is a plus
  • Knowledge and prior usage of Business Intelligence tools
