Purpose
The successful candidate will work with the staff of the Office of Community Engagement within the Experiential Learning team of Academic Affairs to lead and manage signature internship and professional development programming.
Responsibilities
- Manage recruitment and consistent growth for the Home to Texas and Archer programs by communicating with students, employers, and communities about the benefit of both programs. Undertake tasks including, but not limited to
- Promoting program awareness, recruiting students, and increasing access to both programs.
- Collaborating with campus and Archer Center partners, including faculty in all CSUs, to spread the word about opportunities.
- Providing application preparation, information, and professional development sessions for UT Austin students.
- Coordinating, facilitating, and attending in-person and/or virtual events for program participants in the communities.
- Creating and managing employer and community relationships to develop opportunities for students.
- Working closely with other Office of Community Engagement staff to expand stewardship of internship opportunities in communities.
- Manage robust and transparent selection management for the Home to Texas and Archer programs in collaboration with students, employers, and communities through tasks including, but not limited to:
- Recruiting application reviewers and interviewers for a pool of over 100 applicants.
- Coordinating the application and interview process for selection of students.
- Overseeing the logistics of interview season by working with administrative associate to secure rooms or other needs.
- Engaging in timely and appropriate communication with students, faculty partners, and other campus partners about the interview process or selection decisions.
- Managing project management of complex application-related Excel and other organizational files.
- Ensuring that stakeholders involved in the application and interview process meet their weekly target goals.
- Coordinate events associated with Home to Texas and Archer through the academic year by working with Office of Community Engagement administrative associate on tasks including"
- Coordinating annual cohort welcome receptions and other events such as application and interview prep workshops.
- Representing internships and career experiences at events and meetings on campus, including through information sessions with campus partners.
- Organizing and attending community celebrations to celebrate mutual benefit in communities of Home to Texas students.
- Organizing program reunions and sendoffs.
- Serve as program management lead by managing reporting, communicating with program leadership and stakeholders, and supporting students. Tasks include:
Assessment and reporting:
- Coordinating assessment of the Home to Texas and Archer programs at UT Austin, including planning, implementation, and reporting.
- Tracking program alumni toward developing long-term networking and mentorship connections.
Program leadership:
- Supervising student staff, including graduate assistants and Home to Texas student advisory board.
