Responsibilities

 

Directs, administers, and coordinates functions of the Crawford North Texas logistics and warehouse departments in accordance with policies, goals and objectives established by the organization with emphasis on customer service.  Ensures that approved policies and objectives are clearly understood and effectively applied in assigned areas of responsibility.  Responsible for maintaining effective communication between both internal and external customers and specific areas of assigned responsibility.  Ability to coordinate, control and organize multiple functions and activities including the transportation and storage of goods (PLS), distribution, and inventory control as well as facilities management and safety inititiaves. Develops logistics plans and procedures to ensure that internal and client needs are met.  Through department managers and supervisors, assists in the recruitment, selection, training and development of personnel.

 

  • Lead and work as an integral member of the Logistics Leadership Team in developing strategic plans, and department budgets as well as enhancing service level, profitability, and efficiency throughout the regions logistics operations.
  • Develop and direct the management of the Distribution Centers within the network to ensure timely ordering processing, accurate inventory control, and proper Warehouse management.
  • Manage logistics and outbound transportation processes; implement improved processes and management methods to improve KPI and optimize material flow.
  • Investigate and lead the implementation of new technology in the RDC
  • Part of the planning and strategy of the potential CDC in NTX to cover Crawford and Crawford / Irby locations.
  • Foster healthy working relationships with Sales Leaders to develop short- and long-term strategies that support growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee continuous improvement and quality projects throughout the network to build on efficiencies and best-in-class operations.
  • Enforce all Sonepar business and operational policies and ensure that controls are in place and operating as planned.
  • Review each direct reporting department’s monthly expenses; recommend areas for savings and report areas of concern proactively.
  • Correspond with branch and company management to resolve questions and issues that arise in the normal course of business.
  • Continually investigate and introduce process improvement measures and present suggestions to the VP of NTX.
  • Participate with other managers in operational and administrative process improvement.
  • Develop self and others – assign and accept challenging assignments to expand professional knowledge and capabilities of self and others.
