CORRECTIONAL SERVICES CONSULTANT – 70028102

 

This advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in the Education Services department.

 

Salary Rate: $57,165.16 annually

 

SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides guidance to the regional program administrators, the regional career/technical education (CTE) coordinators, and field CTE teaching staff across the state.
  • Assists with local oversight of all aspects of contract compliance, on behalf of the Contract manager, including but not limited to staff background checks, program scheduling, staffing levels and vacancies, reportable incidents, and program curricula. Assists with providing technical guidance to Career/Technical education personnel related to the delivery in compliance with contractual, programmatic, grant requirements (as applicable), and department procedures, and liaises with regional directors, wardens and local education staff to resolve programmatic issues and concerns. Reviews and evaluates program outcomes and effectiveness.
  • Assists with the monitoring and review of expenditures for services and equipment to ensure that funds are used efficiently. Makes budget recommendations to the CTE Administrator. Assists with evaluations of billing statements submitted by contracted providers in accordance with contractual and grant requirements.
  • Assists in monitoring and evaluating programming effectiveness and quality ensuring compliance with department policies and Department of Education program guidelines.
  • Assists in planning and implementation of Career and Technical Education programs for the Department.
  • Researches assessment instruments and data to evaluate program effectiveness including: collection and compilation of data, generating reports that address program effectiveness and inmate participation level, and establishing methods of receiving feedback on programs to provide ongoing enhancement of CTE, pre-apprenticeships and credentialing programs statewide, and uses feedback to incorporate changes to better meet the needs of the inmates.
  • Assists in managing grant-funded programs and the development of new programs and improvements in existing programs to meet the needs of the Department.
  • Assists in the development of rules, policies, procedures, and directives as they relate to applicable program areas and ensures adherence of the same.
  • Serves on committees and task forces as assigned. Consults other state agencies and represents the Department in matters related to vocational education.  Provides guidance and informs regional managers and field staff of any pertinent changes affecting the applicable program areas.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
