Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Project Services Estimator to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Cablofil Team in Mascoutah, IL. The role of the project services team is to manage technical projects, maintain technical documents and provide technical support.
What Will You Do?
- Respond to customer request for detailed takeoffs and product conversions for electrical construction projects. Develop BOMs, interface with customer and EWS sales team with questions and suggestions. Provide installation and submittal drawings for conversion projects.
- Work directly with end users or in coordination with EWS sales team to understand customer non-standard customer needs (typically project based) and modify standard product offering to quickly and cost effectively meet the customer needs. Identify and validate appropriate codes and standards and testing requirements, document results.
- Create sketches, 2D/3D files and prototype designs to provide different options that are used to satisfy the customer requirements. Evaluate these concepts and obtain final approval from customer. Create final 2D/3D models, assemblies, and drawings to refine, develop and finalize the design and communicate effectively to manufacturing.
- Complete product documentation to support production, including engineering drawings and specifications, bills of materials, and quality requirements and testing.
- Performs other similar and related duties as required and the potential for travel.
Qualifications
Education: Associate’s degree in electrical technology or related equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience is required, design or estimating experience preferred.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software. Ability to use internet and web-based resources efficiently and effectively. Proficient in the use of 2D/3D CAD software, SolidWorks preferred. Estimating software experience, a plus.
- Solid understanding of commercial electrical construction techniques preferred. Must be able to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to practical problems.
- Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team-based environment. Fosters open communication and support an environment of innovation and creative change.
- Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities. Must possess excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to develop and manage to a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines and control a number of projects at various stages of work.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Must be an effective listener, able to extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information. Demonstrated ability to understand customer’s needs and identify new ways to serve/satisfy customer.
