POSITION SUMMARY: We seek a dedicated and visionary leader to assume the role of CIO, Corporate Functions. This individual will be responsible for advancing growth, innovation, and organizational value. The CIO, Corporate Functions, will partner closely with Finance, Human Resources, Legal, Marketing, PBS, and Pharmacy to harness technology capabilities in support of an integrated, innovation-driven strategy and roadmap that optimizes operations and enhances enterprise value.
This role will also play a key leadership role in evolving a globally integrated technology workforce and delivery model, ensuring the right mix of talent, capabilities, and locations to support scalability, resilience, and long‑term business needs. In addition, the CIO will collaborate closely with peer CIOs to develop market‑leading capabilities that benefit both Corporate Functions and the broader enterprise.
RESPONSIBILITES:
Apply knowledge of the healthcare sector, enterprise strategy, and new technologies to work with business units to enhance existing solutions and identify opportunities for value. This includes tasks related to strategic decisions, operating models, vision, prioritization, resource allocation, build-or-buy choices, trade-offs, investments, and funding.
Lead a globally-distributed team exceeding 1,200 technologists (contractors and full-time employees), focusing on developing talent, strengthening leadership, and optimizing team structures across regions to support skill development, capability building, leadership growth, and operational processes in pursuit of strategic objectives.
Partner with the Technology Senior Leadership Team to shape and execute a globally integrated workforce strategy, expanding access to diverse talent sources while maintaining appropriate balance across regions and preserving critical capabilities and leadership continuity.
Guide the evolution of global delivery and operating models, determining how technology capabilities should be strategically distributed and scaled to support future-state business needs, while ensuring continuity, performance, and strong collaboration across U.S. and international teams.
Collaborate across business and technology teams to align on architecture, data, and digital capabilities, with attention to scalability, quality, user experience, efficiency, and effectiveness.
Promote the implementation and integration of AI and machine learning technologies to enhance innovation, operational efficiency, and the development of new business models within Corporate Functions; collaborate with the AI Center of Enablement and cross-functional teams to expand enterprise AI capabilities while ensuring their use remains responsible, secure, and ethical.
Executive accountability for enterprise rebates processing, specifically the client and pharma manufacturer lifecycle across contracting, ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and integrated data visibility that protects margin and enables scalable commercial programs.
Coordinate with P/L leadership to adjust and prioritize ongoing and future initiatives to maintain alignment with both enterprise and technology strategies.
Support CIO in Executive Leadership Team and Board presentations and engagements, ensuring strategic, roadmap, and delivery alignment and clarity.
CRITICAL TECHNOLOGY COMPENTENCIES:
The Corporate Functions CIO must be business-focused, solution-driven, and experienced in developing and supporting technology systems. The following abilities are required:
Expertise with AI/ML platforms, generative AI technologies, and automation frameworks; skilled in developing AI-proficient teams and promoting a culture focused on ongoing innovation and knowledge advancement.
Comprehensive knowledge of DevSecOps practices and technologies, including Agile methodology and environment.
Experience with evaluating emerging technologies and recommending potential partnerships that provide efficiencies and competitive advantage.
Understanding of service-oriented and event-driven architectures, as well as modern data modeling and data architecture practices.
Experience with reusable asset development (ie. prototypes, POCs, and MVPs), cloud engineering and cloud-native design, messaging frameworks, API development, modern UI/UX design practices, container management, and industry standard programming languages.
Understanding of non-functional requirements and their importance to solution design.
