JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Plant Science in the College of Agricultural Sciences at Penn State invites applications for a part-time research support position for summer/fall 2024. The hired candidate(s) will work in the Kemanian Agroecosystems Lab.

Typical duties are:

• assist in preparing the materials and conducting measurement of nitrous oxide and other greenhouse gas emissions in experiments in organic agriculture

• sample soil and plant material and process samples in the lab including drying and grinding samples, and determining soil nitrogen mineral content

• follow protocols regarding data storage and management

• willow sampling

This job requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid US driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
