Accounting Intern

This 10-week summer internship will work closely with our Finance & Accounting team in a hybrid capacity.  We’re looking for a passionate Accounting Intern who will report to Exiger’s Assistant Controller and serve in both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.

This full time internship position is available for candidates in the surrounding Richmond, Virginia area and will begin on 6/3/24 and end on 8/9/24. 

What You’ll Do: 

• Accounts Receivable (First 5 weeks)
• Prepare weekly calendar for contacting key customers
• Confirm receipt of invoices and address any potential invoicing issues
• Ensure POs are in place before invoices are sent to clients
• Escalate client issues regarding services issues, billing, or non-payment to the appropriate internal resources
• Apply funds received to the correct invoice
• Accounts Payable (Last 5 weeks)
• Process vendor invoices and ensure bill accuracy
• Check for appropriate documentation and approvals prior to processing payments
• Expense report processing, ensuring all support documentation is submitted and necessary information exists for bookkeeping
• Research and resolve accounts payable matters with vendors and clients, including aging analyses of payables
• Bank statement reconciliation against general ledger
• Other duties and responsibilities as required in support of Exiger’s Finance team

 

What You Need: 

• Currently enrolled in a university, ideally in their junior, senior or a master's program
• Currently majoring in Accounting or related Finance track
• Entering your Senior year of undergraduate school or first year of graduate school
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Great attention to detail -- you catch that missing comma!
• Must live in the Richmond, VA area

This is a hybrid internship based in the Richmond, VA area. The pay rate for this role is $25/hr.
