Description
Job Summary
The Facilities Maintenance and Maintenance Assistant is responsible for maintaining the facilities including the building and for organizing and procuring maintenance related parts and consumables to ensure quantity, quality, timelines and cost objectives are maintained.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs maintenance of the building, grounds, plant facilities including parking lots, restrooms, all lighting issues, and maintenance of the office area.
- Maintains a neat, clean and safe environment in the maintenance area.
- Prepares purchase orders in applicable software/tracking applications and confirms shipment dates with vendor. Follows up with vendor to ensure delivery date will be met and expedites orders as needed. Communicates any delivery issues with management.
- Assists with organization of parts and consumables.
- Analyzes spare parts and consumable inventory levels, usages, and lead times requirements to determine reorder points.
- Responsible for ensuring inventory quantities are accurately reported in maintenance software.
- Completes all paperwork required with receiving ordered product, assigning applicable account codes and submitting invoices to Maintenance Manager or accounting.
- Under director or Maintenance Manager, completes vendor research on product specification and price comparisons to determine potential alternative suppliers. Makes recommendations to Maintenance Manager on pursuing alternative vendors.
- Ships items to vendors for repair, refurbishing or return.
- Assists with snow removal operations
- Participates and contributes to a Work Team Environment
- Follows all Safety Rules and contributes to a safe work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Two-year technical degree desired.
- Mechanical and electrical working experience and knowledge
- 2 years of manufacturing experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent trouble shooting and diagnostic skills
- Able to define problems and resolve quickly
- Familiar with local building codes and OSHA regulations
- Able to work well with frequently changing priorities and/or situations
