MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and one (1) year designing and implementing fully built-out classroom technology integrations for use by instructors with multiple source inputs that allow the space to be fully functional for in-person or remote education OR Associates degree in Computer Science or related field and three (3) years designing and implementing fully built-out classroom technology integrations for use by instructors with multiple source inputs that allow the space to be fully functional for in-person or remote education OR five (5) years designing and implementing fully built-out classroom technology integrations for use by instructors with multiple source inputs that allow the space to be fully functional for in-person or remote education.
Proven strong experience with engineering, designing, and implementing plans for instructional spaces using Crestron or like equipment.
Proven proficiency with room control systems including Crestron and Extron and demonstrable ability to program devices with products like AV Framework.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Management of a team of designers and installers of classroom technology who have great vision to push instructional spaces beyond today’s expectations. Crestron Master's Certification (any level).
DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES: The Managing Instructional Technology Engineer reports to the CIO and performs the following duties:
• Supervises all members of the instructional technology team.
• Supervises and coordinates all instructional technology projects for all sites.
• Coordinates all purchasing, delivery and installation with vendors.
• Establishes guidelines, policies, and schedule for technology replacement.
• Serves on appropriate academic committees to provide a detailed vision for instructional spaces.
• Providing support for 300+ Instructional spaces across all geographic locations.
• Engineer/Design/Develop plans for instructional spaces (classrooms, labs, special use).
• Perform troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair of instructional technology. Make equipment repair decisions, contact repair vendors, and test repaired equipment.
• Provide assistance and personal contact to faculty and staff in classrooms.
• Provide technical assistance to staff/faculty in the operation of Instructional Technology.
• Develop technical specifications for instructional technology hardware and software installation.
• Proficiency with room control systems, including Crestron and Extron systems.
• Implement technology based on design standards for Learning, Teaching, and Collaboration spaces used to build and maintain classrooms.
• Work with engineers, construction managers, and faculty in partnership with internal and external groups including Campus Planning, Design, and Construction, Facility Services, Academic Affairs, schools and colleges, and other IT units. Project scopes range from renovations to new building construction.
