Job Description:
ASG is seeking a Cyber Security SOC Incident Responder (Jr.). This role is part of a multidisciplinary program team supporting IT service delivery, cybersecurity, cloud operations, application modernization, and mission system sustainment across the global enterprise.
The SOC Incident Responder will play a key role in identifying, containing, and responding to cyber incidents affecting the networks and mission systems. Working in a collaborative SOC environment, this role will ensure rapid incident detection, effective triage, and timely escalation while helping strengthen cybersecurity posture through lessons learned and playbook updates.
What You Will Do:
- Monitors and analyzes SOC alerts from SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint, and vulnerability management systems.
- Conducts initial triage, investigation, and correlation of suspicious activity to determine scope and severity.
- Provides Tier I/Tier II incident response support, escalating to senior analysts as required.
- Executes incident containment and remediation steps in coordination with ISSOs, network administrators, and system owners.
- Maintains and updates incident response tickets, reports, and after-action reviews in compliance with DoD/DISA standards.
- Supports RMF continuous monitoring and POA&M remediation by documenting and tracking incident findings.
- Participates in developing and refining SOC playbooks, SOPs, and escalation workflows.
- Contributes to cyber defense exercises, audits, and readiness drills directed by leadership.
- Collaborate with forensic analysts, threat hunters, and compliance staff to improve detection and prevention measures.
- Other duties as assigned.
What We Need:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in cybersecurity, SOC, or incident response experience.
- Ability to apply fundamental concepts, processes, and procedures to technical assignments.
- Practical experience and training relevant to the role.
- Ability to perform assigned work effectively under supervision.
- Strong willingness to learn and develop skills in a professional environment.
- Travel up to 25% may be required based on project needs.
Certifications
- Security+ CE.
Clearance:
Active Secret Clearance.
Even Better
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field.
- Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms (Splunk, ArcSight, QRadar, ELK).
- Familiarity with ACAS, HBSS, Tanium, or other DISA-mandated security tools.
- ITIL v4 Foundation certification for incident/change management best practices.
- Exposure to cloud environments (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government) and associated IR processes.
- Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework for adversary TTP analysis.
- Strong communication skills to prepare clear incident reports and executive summaries.
