Join our team as a Project Engineer and help shape the patient experience beyond the treatment room by supporting safe, efficient, and innovative healthcare facility projects. The Project Engineer supports project management and design research for capital projects ranging from $100,000 to $3 million. You will assist the Project Manager in managing multiple projects at various stages, including contract specifications, quality assurance, and reporting. Your work will contribute to projects that prioritize safety, compliance, and quality, aligning with IU Health’s mission to care for the whole patient—mind, body, and spirit.You will play a vital role in ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet all regulatory and safety standards, including NFPA Life Safety, ISDH regulations, LEED, and ADA guidelines.Key Responsibilities  
  • Support project development, including design research, scope, schedule, and budget management.
  • Assist in managing multiple projects, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Help coordinate contract specifications, reporting, and documentation for various phases of projects.
  • Provide input into design and construction processes that promote patient and staff safety.
  • Apply knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and healthcare facility standards to project planning and execution.
  • Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to support project goals and timelines.
  • Contribute to project cost control, schedule tracking, and quality assurance efforts.
Qualifications  
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; healthcare project experience or certification preferred.
  • Entry-level to 3 years of relevant healthcare or construction project experience.
  • Knowledge of project or construction management principles, business terms, and contracting methodologies.
  • Familiarity with regulations such as NFPA Life Safety, ISDH, LEED, IBC, and ADA standards.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
