About the Opportunity

As Assistant Director, Contracts, you’re a master of detail and procedure, and you help shape efficient workflows to ensure that contracts and related legal documents are processed on time and accurately for our partners. You are passionate about being responsive to internal and external customer needs. You’re a collaborative partner with our Legal team and help to manage organizational risk by identifying potential issues with non-standard deliverables or payment terms, bringing in additional colleagues – beyond Legal – to review information and advice on next steps, and ensuring complex contract deliverables are achieved. You’re a subject matter expert in managing data agreements and are adept at coordinating across multiple teams to ensure our most complex contracts get executed on time and effectively.

In this role, you will:

Manage the Contract Lifecycle (70%)

  • Manage all administrative aspects of contracts (e.g., drafting contracts using standard templates and program riders via Salesforce, integrating multiple programs and pricing into contracts, routing for internal approval, and taking ownership to resolve any conflicts).

  • Proactively identify potential organizational risks in non-standard contract language, flagging for the appropriate finance/legal/program contact for review/approval, and proposing solutions, when possible. Always maintaining contact to ensure resolution. Assist Regional and/or Program staff in explaining common business and financial terms to the customer.

  • Identify and obtain the required authorizations/signature(s) based on documented work-flow process and policies and ensure fully executed contracts are properly stored within Salesforce or other designated repositories.

  • Ensure properly authorized contracts and other required documents are delivered to customers on time and free from errors. Responsible for meeting efficiency and accuracy targets as set by their manager.

  • Serve as the point of contact for external stakeholders, including State, District, and Higher Ed procurement, legal, and finance staff and partner with College Board legal, program, and finance teams to coordinate client needs with internal processes, ensuring that work is managed to established deadlines.
