Summary:  The Graduate School at New Mexico State University is hiring a Business Operations Specialist to manage the allocation of scholarship awards, including internal Graduate School scholarships, the Graduate Union Tuition Credit Scholarship, and the STEM scholarship. This role entails meticulous tracking and maintenance of the scholarship budget. Additionally, responsibilities include facilitating in-state tuition coding, processing payments for invoices, purchase orders, FLIPs, invoicing, and conducting budget monitoring for the Graduate School, Education Abroad, Passport Services, and ISSS offices. Classification Summary:
Responsible for overseeing business operations support in individual or multiple program area(s). Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the development and execution of management processes, training and education on standard requirements and methods, creating models to improve business decisions, personnel functions, labor and/or cost reporting, document editing, process quality control, pricing, tracking and management of documentation and/or automated processes.

Classification Standard Duties:
As appropriate may develop or assist in the development and maintenance of business reporting and management tools/processes. May supervise regular or temporary staff. Responsible for supervising business process transactions to ensure timely and accurate processing. May oversee and/or assist, as appropriate, in areas such as business finance, planning, scheduling, contractual compliance, cost management, and proposal support.

Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency
Required Education:High School diploma or GED certificate.; Required Experience:Four (4) years of experience related to the standard duties as outlined.; Equivalency:Completion of a post-secondary degree or certificate may substitute for years of experience.; Required Certification/License:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
KNOWLEDGE:Knowledge of general business principles and/or procedures. Knowledge of marketing strategies, processes, and available resources.; SKILLS:Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment. Employee development and performance management skills.; ABILITIES:Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Manage the allocation of scholarship awards, including internal Graduate School scholarships as well as state funded scholarships. This role entails meticulous tracking and maintenance of the scholarship budget. Additionally, responsibilities include facilitating in-state tuition coding, processing payments for invoices, purchase orders, FLIPs, invoicing, and conducting budget monitoring for the Graduate School, Education Abroad, Passport Services, and ISSS offices and other administrative duties supporting the Graduate School, ISSS, Education Abroad and Passport Services offices as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Banner, Aggie Mart and Scholar Dollar systems.
