About the role

Position Summary...

This role owns the development and delivery of the industry’s best item setup and edit experience, enabling Walmart to move faster, operate smarter, and serve customers better at scale. You will be responsible for building a fast, standardized, adaptive, and highly automated item lifecycle that improves speed to shelf, data quality, and ease of use for merchants and suppliers across both 1P and 3P. This role sits at the foundation of Walmart’s commerce ecosystem, with accountability for creating a single, trusted source of truth for item data that eliminates manual exchanges, reduces errors, and enables scalable automation across the enterprise. Success requires strong product judgment, deep systems thinking, and the ability to lead through complexity while delivering meaningful, measurable outcomes.

What you'll do...

·       Own and shape the end‑to‑end item setup and edit experience, defining a clear product vision that is fast, standardized, adaptive, and automated for merchants, suppliers, and customers.
·       Reduce manual data entry by implementing intelligent defaults, automation, and AI‑assisted inputs to drive consistent and predictable item quality across 1P and 3P.
·       Design adaptive workflows that dynamically request only essential information based on context such as category, seller type, and risk.
·       Drive AI-powered capabilities to derive attributes, classify products, validate completeness, and surface issues early, using human‑in‑the‑loop controls where appropriate.
·       Establish a single source of truth for item data, eliminating manual back‑and‑forth between merchants and suppliers by automating upstream workflows.
·       Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, data science, UX, and business teams to align standards, prioritize high‑impact opportunities, and deliver measurable improvements in speed to shelf, data quality, error reduction, and overall experience.
·       Build a scalable platform that supports Walmart’s future growth while improving operational efficiency for internal and external users.

What You’ll Bring:
·       Extensive experience managing complex, data‑heavy platforms or workflows, with the ability to balance scale, quality, and speed.
·       A systems‑thinking mindset, with an understanding of how upstream item decisions influence catalog, search, supply chain, compliance, and customer experience.
·       A passion for simplifying complexity, removing friction through thoughtful design, automation, and intelligent defaults.
·       Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills, naturally partnering with engineering, data science, UX, and business teams.
·       Comfort using AI and automation to solve real operational problems and enhance user experience.
·       Influence without authority, driving alignment and momentum across multiple teams and stakeholders.
·       Decisiveness in ambiguity, with strong communication skills and the ability to balance long‑term vision with practical, incremental execution.
