Position DescriptionMechanism is seeking a Performance Marketing Lead to lead the paid customer acquisition efforts across multiple high-growth startups in our portfolio. As the Team Lead, you will be responsible for the strategic direction, operations, and reporting of all paid media accounts, while also building and managing a team of Paid Media Managers and Creative Strategists. This role is also responsible for building the systems and processes needed to launch companies at scale.
We are looking for an analytical and results-driven marketing expert with a strong track record of success in driving growth through paid media channels. In addition to being a hands-on marketer, you will be a proven leader who thinks strategically about paid media in an AI-driven world. You will guide the team to be successful in this quickly evolving environment and actively drive initiatives to uplevel the team using AI. You will have a passion for entrepreneurship, a hunger for engineering growth, and be committed to continuous learning and improvement.
Your ability to analyze data and develop and execute strategies will be crucial to success in this role. You will work closely with CEOs and other stakeholders to ensure that all paid media campaigns are aligned with their overall business objectives, and you will be responsible for delivering measurable results against KPIs. You will also collaborate with the SEO, partnerships, and lifecycle team leads to develop integrated marketing campaigns that drive growth across all channels.
The ideal candidate will have experience in managing and developing high-performance marketing teams and a deep understanding of the latest trends and best practices in paid media. The role will report directly to Mechanism’s VP of Growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Hire, manage, and continuously up-level a team of high-performing marketers.
- Connect with company CEO’s and team members in a client facing environment to present results, strategy, and recommendations.
- Build the systems and processes needed to launch new companies and performance strategies at scale, such as building an in-house creative studio.
- You will take full ownership of managing multiple PPC campaigns for various portfolio companies, owning strategy, operations, and reporting. You will further manage and provide strategic and operational guidance to your team on the accounts they own.
- You will create, optimize, and scale campaigns across various paid media channels, mainly Meta and Google. This will involve optimizing across auto-bidding algorithms, creative testing, keyword match types, and audience targeting to improve campaign performance.
- You will test new relevant ad inventory for our companies and develop our best practices for these flows (e.g., TikTok marketing).
- You will explore opportunities to leverage AI and implement these to uplevel campaign set-up and management, creative testing, and the team’s operational efficiency.
- You will be responsible for structuring, running, and reporting on A/B tests to scale campaigns and optimize spend efficiency. Your ability to effectively structure tests and analyze the results will be key in making data-driven recommendations and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- You will monitor daily performance of your brands and provide weekly reports to the CEOs on how you are tracking against the brands’ growth goals. You will use this information to identify and recommend actionable opportunities for improvement.
