Human Resource Generalist / Payroll Administrator

Description
This position is responsible for performing HR and Payroll related duties on a professional level and works closely with the director of human resources in supporting our various locations. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: payroll and benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain employee records and update HR databases (e.g., new hires, separations, vacation, and sick leaves)
- Analyzes, prepares and inputs payroll data to include garnishments, time-off, insurance and 401(k) deductions.
- Reviews electronic time clock for completeness and accuracy and contacts various department supervisors for missed time.
- Prepares Semi-monthly payroll.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Collaborates with managers to assess employment needs, and participates in recruiting efforts to identify, interview, hire and train qualified candidates.
- Conducts background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Conducts and/or coordinates various employee training programs related to onboarding, professional development, or site-specific requested training.
- Assist with monitoring the performance evaluation program and recommends revisions as necessary.
- Reviews and responds to unemployment claims with appropriate documentation.
- Coordinate HR projects, meetings, and training seminars.
- Coordinate and post job ads on career pages and process incoming resumes.
- Coordinate interviews with applicants and hiring managers.
- Prepare reports and presentations for internal communications.
- Provide orientations for new employees by sharing onboarding packages and explaining company policies.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Proven work experience as an HR Generalist and Payroll Administrator.
- Experience with HRIS systems like Paylocity.
- Experience with MS Office applications. Knowledge of labor legislation and excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Wage:
Annual Salary from $50,000 - $65,000 Based on experience.
