The Job:  

As a Senior Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist you’ll be part of our EH&S team working as an onsite employee. You’ll get to:  

• Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments, and other safety assessments.

• Conduct audits of the facility to verify compliance, identify unsafe conditions, and eliminate safety hazards.

• Perform risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate control measures.

• Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees, including orientation for new hires and ongoing training for existing staff.

• Maintain training records and ensure all employees are aware of EHS policies and procedures. Conduct safety meetings and training as needed.

• Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine root causes. Prepare incident reports and maintain records in compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Collect, analyze, and report EHS data to management, identifying trends and areas for improvement.

• Support EHS manager in implementing emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and emergency drills.

• Monitor waste management practices to ensure compliance with environmental regulations. Assist in the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of the distribution center.

• Trains and motivates; monitors and evaluates the performance of associates in the department. Work closely with management, supervisors, and employees to foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

The Person:

• College Degree plus 3 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a distribution center or warehouse environment.

• Strong working knowledge with regulatory compliance and safety management systems.

• Previous experience operating PIVs preferred.

• Prior experience in a distribution center environment preferred.

• Computer proficiency including use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Required to lift and/or move 30 lbs. regularly.

• Occasionally exposed to extreme temperatures.

• Ability to work second shift.
