Job Description

Ares is seeking an exceptional technology professional with a strong track record of managing, developing and delivering technology across the HR domain and its associated applications and technologies. This professional will join our HR Technology Systems Team in IT and will work closely with other IT departments, business stakeholders and consultants through all project phases of scoping, implementation, deployment, optimization, and support.

This role requires an adaptable, detail-oriented and trustworthy professional who can operate successfully across various phases of a dynamic project and can multi-task and transition quickly as business priorities shift.

The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience planning, designing, developing, deploying and supporting exceptional software solutions, with particular emphasis on Core HR Process flows, Security, and cross-platform touchpoints. The candidate will develop working relationships with peer technologists, analysts and key business stakeholders to effect change via an Agile/DevOps delivery model. In addition, the candidate should have proven hands-on Workday HCM experience with understanding of broader HR applications and technology.

Strong communication skills, ability to work independently with multiple personnel/departments will be crucial. Success will be measured by quality of work products, ability to meet deadlines/milestones and user satisfaction.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As a Workday Core product manager, develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocation in collaboration with the team leadership and project stakeholders. Coordinate and facilitate project meetings, status updates, and other communications. Lead complex, cross-functional projects with stakeholders at all levels

  • Partner with key stakeholders to understand business processes and pain points. Operate as a thought leader, and advocate for change, in implementation and maintenance of HR applications such as Workday HCM, Workday Learning, Workday Prism, analytics tools such as Visier, and others.

  • Ensure appropriate procedures for testing, training, audit, and support are followed consistently

  • Proactively identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and system enhancements. 

  • Own solution design and delivery, including drafting current/future system/process diagrams and documenting business requirements, technical specifications, test cases, deployment plans, and release notes.

  • As a senior resource, provide the team guidance, coaching, and development opportunities, help manage capacity across resources.

  • Liaison to the application architecture, development, and PMO teams to ensure guidelines and process across all technology initiatives are aligned properly.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computing, HR, Information Systems or related fields

Experience Required:

  • In-depth knowledge of HR business processes, including onboarding, employee lifecycle (e.g. Hire, Term, Change Job), and HR Data structures including supervisory organizations, cost centers, and custom organizations

  • Track record of successfully delivering business and technology projects with an understanding of product development lifecycle, including robust project management skills.

  • Experience in applications and hands on configuration and delivery in Workday HCM.

  • Strong knowledge and experience in HR technologies including Workday

  • Exceptional leadership and communication, capable of influencing decisions and fostering a collaborative team environment.

  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering results and improving processes.

  • Working knowledge of agile principles and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
