We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Senior Environmental Remediation Project Manager within our Glenn Springs Holdings, Inc. group based in Houston, TX.
Essential Job Duties:
- Develop and implement site strategies for managing environmental liabilities.
- Build and lead effective multi-disciplinary teams, including consultants and contractors, to complete complex environmental remediation projects in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
- Maintain effective project tracking, schedule management and cost monitoring and control.
- Responsible for estimating and communicating the scope of potential liabilities, including assessment of associated risk and uncertainty.
- Ensure strong health and safety focus for all project work and compliance with HES laws, regulations and company policies.
- Develop and manage the implementation of environmental remediation work plans compliant with State, Federal, and project requirements.
- Effectively interact with Federal, State or local agencies as required to meet project objectives.
- Interact collaboratively with external stakeholders, such as third-party site owners and local organizations.
- Develop and manage solicitation efforts and scopes of work with consultants and contractors
- Interact with internal counsel to conceptualize and implement site strategies to address various project issues.
- Provide subject matter expertise on local and national issues related to remediation.
- Assist in the negotiation and development of contracts and agreements with various consultants, contractors, agencies, stakeholders, etc.
- Ensure strong health and safety focus for all project work, and compliance with HES laws, regulations, and Oxy Policies.
- Effectively interact with federal, state, or local agencies, as appropriate, to support project-specific objectives and/or GSH/Oxy relationships.
- Other duties assigned as directed.
Required Qualifications:
- BS degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, environmental science or related field; advanced degree and professional license(s) preferred.
- 15+ years of relevant experience. - Direct experience in managing environmental assessment and remedial projects.
- Direct experience in managing complex environmental investigations, feasibility studies, remedial designs, and remedial construction.
- Direct experience in management of contractors or staff.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Direct experience with the implementation of remedies.
- Direct experience in evaluating, selecting, and managing environmental consultants, contractors or staff; experience in managing field implementation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to convey complex information to varied audiences.
- Self-motivated; ability to work independently to achieve objectives while handling multiple projects and challenging deadlines.
- Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations.
- Demonstrated history of productive engagement with regulatory agencies.
- High level of computer skills.
- Ability to travel for projects; 25-50% travel possible.
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior industry experience.
- Working knowledge of SAP.
