The Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Principal / Sr. Principal Price/Cost Analyst (Level 3 or 4) to join its growing team of diverse professionals. This job is based in our Melbourne, Florida offices.

 

The person chosen for this role will be tasked with analyzing the pricing and costs associated with major subcontracts and general procurement cost proposals. This analysis will support both ongoing activities and prime proposal activities, which are essential for the company’s operations and strategic initiatives.

 

Essential Functions:

Responsible for supporting the Price/Cost Team, who support both prime and supplier acquisitions.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Cost Model Development: Create cost models to aid in analyzing and negotiating supplier proposals.
  • Supplier Proposal Analysis: Work with suppliers to understand their operations and determine factors affecting pricing. Conduct cost analysis and audits to ensure costs and prices are reasonable.
  • Technical Integration: Collaborate with engineers to incorporate technical evaluations into cost analyses when needed.
  • Data Compilation: Gather data to develop objective cost analyses for ongoing procurements and prime proposal cost estimates.
  • Reporting: Prepare Price/Cost Analysis Reports (PCAR) and presentations summarizing evaluation findings. Make recommendations to Global Supply Chain (GSC) Business Management and Program Management.
  • Negotiation Support: Provide support throughout the subcontract definition process and participate in supplier negotiations as needed. Establish negotiation objectives for supplier negotiations and maintain records and data supporting proposals.
  • Compliance Evaluation: Assess supplier proposals for compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) requirements and prepare detailed PCARs.
  • Fact-Finding: Engage in fact-finding sessions via telecom or at supplier sites and request DCAA Assist Audits when applicable.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research, analyze historical data, and develop cost estimating models to evaluate price reasonableness and negotiation positions.
  • Commerciality Reviews: Support reviews of Subcontractor claims of “Commerciality” and Commercial Item Determinations.
  • Pricing and Estimating: Support GSC pricing and estimating activities during proposal phases and post-award execution.
  • Audit Support: Assist with DCAA Proposal and Estimating System Audits and DCMA Purchasing System Audits.
  • Make/Buy Analysis: Provide support for Make/Buy analysis decisions.

 

This role can be filled at either the Level 3 Principal Price/Cost Analyst or Level 4 Senior Principal Price/Cost Analyst position.

 

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Price Cost Analyst (Level 3):

- Education and Experience: A Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience in price/cost analysis, or a Master’s degree with at least 4 years of related experience.

- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.

- Analytical Skills: Capability to effectiv
