Description of Work

Reporting to the Warden IV, this position is responsible for the daily maintenance operation for an adult male, medium custody prison facility. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Implementing and maintaining comprehensive, preventive, and routine maintenance program at a level that will ensure that the facility is maintained properly with emphasis placed on safety and security of the facility.
- Supervising, planning, organizing and assigning work efforts of the maintenance support group.
- Providing technical supervision and monitoring the efforts of Maintenance/Construction Technicians.
- Managing the performance of staff by ensuring they are aware of primary job responsibilities and have clear expectations as to how they are to perform their duties.
- Monitoring the maintenance budget.

Salary Range: $55,221 - $96,639

  • Knowledge of methods and processes, tools, equipment, and materials used in the repair of buildings and mechanical trades.
  • Experience in estimating costs to repair and replace parts for operating equipment and building structures.
  • Knowledge of safety standards.

Necessary Special Qualifications:

MAY require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by 40 CFR part 82, subpart F.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.
