Job Description
The job will entail supporting drug discovery programs by the execution of in vitro assays under the direction of a more senior staff member.
Utilize of a variety of immunoassay techniques to quantitate protein and post-translational modifications in culture medium and cell lysate.
Multiple assay formats such as plate-based ELISA, AlphaLISA, HTRF, and immunofluorescence techniques may be employed.
qPCR experience for the quantitation of DNA and RNA is required.
Experience with one or more automated liquid handlers (combi/multi drop, Bravo, and ECHO acoustic dispenser) and readers (Envision, PHERAstar, MSD, and Acumen Explorer).
Be familiar with molecular biology techniques (transfection, utilization of AAV or Bacmams to modulate protein expression) and willing to work in a BSL2 or BSL2+ setting.
Knowledge of HIV and virology are also preferred.
Data analysis and the ability to interpret the results of experiments with collaboration from other scientists are expected.
Experience with curve fitting data analysis software (GraphPad Prism, ABASE) and Electronic Lab Notebooks are desired.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Biology, Pharmacology, or other related discipline with at least 2-5 years of experience, preferably in an industrial setting.
Experience developing and executing cell-based assays and experimental studies using standard and innovative scientific approaches and techniques.
Knowledge in automation, imaging and software data analysis, molecular biology and cell biology.
Ability to work independently or collaborate with other scientists
Ability to communicate clearly and candidly
Willing to learn novel technical skills
With good written and oral presentation skills
